HowTo: Pacman - Lookup for corruption in any of your already installed packages on Arch Linux1/8/2019 Corruption of installed packages can happen when Arch Linux system update crashes along with Pacman. So, try any one of the below options to troubleshoot the issue:
Option 1 # pacman -Qk Reference: Arch Linux Wiki >> Pacman/Restore local database Option 2 # pacman -Qkk 1>/dev/null Reference: Arch Linux forums: Topic >> Problems after Pacman crash Fix the missing Linux kernel's "desc" file (i.e. for e.g. /var/lib/pacman/local/linux-4.11.7-1/desc) required by Pacman. Note! This can happen, when full system update of Arch-Linux crashes.
Step 1: Delete the following directory: "/var/lib/pacman/local/linux-4.11.7-1" Step 2: Now, recreate database entry for the above mentioned Linux kernel package using the Pacman cached version. Alternatively if this Linux kernel package is missing, then download it from official Arch-Linux online sources. # pacman -U --dbonly /var/cache/pacman/pkg/linux-4.11.7-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz Step 3: Now, rerun full system update with the below command: # pacman -Syu Related resource: |
